Photo of the Day: Two Tunkis work to protect the Bahuaja Sonene National Park

Cocks of the Rock in Peru

Two Cock of the Rocks, or “Tunkis” as they are locally called hanging out in Peru, work to inspire conservation.

The Nature Conservancy’s Rare Pride campaign protected the natural habitat of the Bahuaja Sonene National Park by motivating local residents to report illegal human settlements to the authorities in order to reduce deforestation.
