The popular Green Living program dives into Rare’s work in the Philippines getting Filipino youth involved in local conservation efforts. “Our goal is more fish,” says Brooke Sadowsky, one of Rare’s program managers in the Philippines. “More fish is beneficial for the environment, but also for everyone who eats fish. Whether it’s that individual fisherman or whether it’s me in the market, we help them in the longterm on how to make sure there’s enough resources so that they can continue to eat, their children can continue to eat, their children’s children can continue to eat.” The problem started with people and people are the solution. Rare puts conservation into local hands. With Rare’s help, communities learn to take pride in their marine resources and empowers them to protect these resources. credit: ANC, Green Living
