Adventures in Conservation is home to several authors, from journalists to social marketers to scientists and more. The blog is primarily written by Rare staff members and Rare Conservation Fellows, with reports from all over the world. We also have experts write guest posts on various topics ranging from conservation and the environment to social marketing and engaging people.

Paul Butler is Rare’s Senior Vice President of Global Programs. He lived and worked in the Caribbean for 25 years. His signature conservation-marketing program, Promoting Protection through Pride, succeeded in bringing back the endangered St. Lucia Parrot, and since 1987 Paul has successfully replicated this program in over 40 countries throughout the Caribbean, Central America, and the Pacific.
Brett Jenks is the President and CEO of Rare. Brett oversees Rare’s global effort to equip people in the world’s most biologically diverse areas with the tools and motivation they need to protect their natural resource.

J. M. McCord is the Director, Communications for Rare. Julie comes to Rare from National Geographic magazine’s international editions. Julie has a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and more than seven years experience writing and editing stories on environmental and conservation issues.
