Lizard Lyrics: A Song to Save A Species

What's green, lives on an island off the eastern coast of Africa, and is nearly extinct? How'd you guess?! The green lizard, which happens to be the subject of Cathleen Cybele's conservation campaign in The Republic of Mauritius. On this island nation, many members of the community are sining a song to raise consciousness about the lizard to ultimatly protect it. The song is in a style of music native to the region called Sega, and you can listen to it here!!

Here are lyrics to the song, in Creole and English. The song was written and preformed by the band Zotsa, and the famous Sega singer, Nancy Derojere.

Let’s Save our Green Lizard!
