Robert is an Honorary Trustee and also one of Rare’s founders along with David Hill. A renowned ornithologist, Robert obtained his M.S. in Zoology from Duke University and his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Yale. As former Director of the Center for Neotropical Ornithology at The Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, Robert is a leading activist for bird conservation and is the co-author of Birds of South America, Volumes I & II, as well as author of A Guide to the Birds of Panama and Birds of Ecuador.
